Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous culinary experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of working in hot, humid, and noisy environments
- Food safety certification required
- Must have certification from a recognized culinary or hospitality association
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work full-time
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of food handling and preparation procedures
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff effectively
- Skilled in food safety practices and occupational hazard awareness
- Food safety certification
- Certification from American Culinary Federation or equivalent hospitality association
- Experience in emergency roles and procedures
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepares or supervises kitchen staff for daily food preparation
- Assists Executive Chef with monthly inventories, pricing, cost controls, and requisitioning
- Conducts daily raw cost tracking and ensures proper inventory
- Checks orders for quality and proper condition upon arrival
- Assumes full kitchen charge in absence of Executive Chef
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates kitchen personnel
- Coordinates buffet presentations including setup and breakdown
- Expedites food orders during peak service hours
- Ensures food quality, presentation, and safety standards are maintained
- Maintains kitchen sanitation and safety protocols
- Consults with dining service personnel
- Reports and assists in resolving member and guest complaints
- Submits operational improvement and personnel management ideas to Executive Chef
- Performs other tasks as assigned by Executive Chef
