Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum of 3 years in similar position in upscale banquet, hotel or convention center setting with prior supervisory experience
- State issued health certificate and immunizations are required
- Technical proficiency in food preparation methods
- Ability to interact positively with diverse personalities
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to train and mentor staff effectively
- Ability to delegate tasks and meet objectives
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task
- Self-directed team player
- Flexible availability including nights and weekends

Job Duties
- Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to line personnel
- Supervises all buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and administrative requirements including food inventories and ordering
- Organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
- Measures, mixes and cooks ingredients according to recipes
- Maintains a clean kitchen ensuring no food debris on any surfaces
- Provides on-going assistance, training and mentoring to kitchen staff
- Monitors food production ensuring quality, consistency and standards are met
- Ensures all food safety standards are followed
- Communicates with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Makes decisions and solves problems
- Organizes, plans and prioritizes work
- Documents and records personnel discipline information and works with Human Resources for discipline issues
- Performs other duties assigned by Executive Chef
