Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • minimum 3 years supervisory experience in upscale banquet, hotel or convention center
  • state issued Health Certificate and immunizations
  • Serve Safe certification
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability for fast, repetitive movements
  • ability to maintain concentration and multitask

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
  • supervises all buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
  • assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and administrative requirements including food inventories and ordering
  • organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
  • measure, mix and cook ingredients according to recipes
  • maintain a clean kitchen and food production areas
  • provide ongoing assistance, training and mentoring to kitchen staff
  • monitor food preparation for quality, consistency, and standards compliance
  • monitor events, materials and surroundings
  • guide, direct and motivate kitchen employees
  • ensure compliance with all food safety standards
  • communicate effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinates
  • make decisions and solve problems while organizing and prioritizing work
  • evaluate information against standards
  • carry out ideas, programs, systems or products
  • document and record personnel discipline information and coordinate with Human Resources
  • perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
