Job Description
SaddleBrooke Two is a luxurious, 55+ active adult lifestyle community located in the picturesque foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Surrounded by stunning panoramic views of desert landscapes and vistas, it offers residents an unparalleled living experience tailored to those seeking comfort, community, and an active retirement lifestyle. Recognized as the Best Retirement Community by the Arizona Daily Star Reader's Choice for six consecutive years and rated among the top 10 places to retire in Arizona by Ideal Living Magazine, SaddleBrooke Two reflects a commitment to excellence in both living standards and community services. The establishment prides itself on providing an inspiring work-life environment, where employees can contribute to a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to quality and sophistication.
The role of Kitchen Supervisor at SaddleBrooke Two is a full-time position responsible for assisting the Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations. This includes overseeing food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, menu planning, and inventory control. The Kitchen Supervisor ensures that guests receive high-quality food products consistently, while also maintaining costs and adhering to the standards set forth by the Chef and management. This position requires a hands-on approach, involving receiving food deliveries, checking invoices for accuracy, managing shortages or mistakes through communication with drivers, and ensuring the proper storage of perishable products to maintain optimal temperatures and food safety.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily food preparation such as retrieving items for daily specials and menu items from storage, prepping salads and soups before service, and cooking dishes according to the Chef’s recipes. The Kitchen Supervisor will also manage the broiler and deep fryer, as well as plate entrees to specification. Beyond food preparation, this role involves supervising kitchen staff during assigned shifts, potentially scheduling for banquet functions, handling employee evaluations and disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Chef, and participating in hiring and termination procedures. The Kitchen Supervisor may also conduct service meetings to explain menu items and specials to the team.
Additional duties include purchasing food items, controlling inventory using computerized systems, suggesting and planning menus alongside the Chef, and costing out nightly specials or events to align with budgetary requirements. This multifaceted position demands culinary expertise, leadership, organizational skills, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of food quality and cost efficiency. Working at SaddleBrooke Two means joining a well-respected community that values professionalism, excellence, and teamwork in providing outstanding dining experiences for its residents and guests.
