Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two plus years of post-high school education, culinary education preferred
- Five plus years of related job experience
- Ability to manage kitchen staff and operations
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Availability to work regular hours according to company attendance policies
Job Qualifications
- Two plus years of post-high school education, culinary education desirable
- Five plus years of related position experience
- Hotel experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and management
- Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, safety, labor relations, and budget forecasting
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills adapted to different audiences
Job Duties
- Manage the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurant(s) and room service
- Manage human resources in the production and preparation areas of the kitchen including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, developing, coaching, and counseling staff
- Schedule and manage the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Monitor, analyze and control all labor and food costs with appropriate reporting to meet budget goals
- Promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu creation, costing, and implementation of seasonal and special menus
- Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Chef in their absence
- Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
