Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- One or more years experience as a sous chef
- Proven experience in upscale or fine dining settings
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to quality and presentation standards
- Familiarity with inventory management and food cost control
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, including weekends
- Willingness to relocate to Rochester, NY if not currently residing in the area
Job Qualifications
- One or more years experience as a sous chef
- Proven experience in an upscale or fine dining setting
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Passion for Japanese culinary traditions and innovation
- Knowledge of Asian and contemporary Japanese cooking methods
- Culinary degree or equivalent training
Job Duties
- Assist the chef in creating authentic and innovative Japanese dishes
- Lead and develop the kitchen team with strong leadership and communication skills
- Manage inventory and control food costs effectively
- Ensure high standards of quality, presentation, and service
- Schedule kitchen staff to maintain optimal workflow
- Work effectively under pressure in a high-paced environment
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards
