We are currently seeking a talented and experienced sous chef to join our culinary team at Wegmans. This full-time role offers an attractive salary range of $65,000 to $70,000 per year and includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus to welcome new talent. The sous chef will work mornings, afternoons, and evenings including weekends, supporting the head chef in crafting an authentic yet innovative dining experience that highlights contemporary Japanese culinary techniques. This role is for culinary professionals passionate about Japanese cuisine who possess strong leadership abilities and a drive to maintain exceptional kitchen standards. As a sous chef, you will be instrumental in leading the kitchen team to deliver outstanding dishes characterized by quality, presentation, and creativity.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • One or more years experience as a sous chef
  • Proven experience in upscale or fine dining settings
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Commitment to quality and presentation standards
  • Familiarity with inventory management and food cost control
  • Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, including weekends
  • Willingness to relocate to Rochester, NY if not currently residing in the area

Job Qualifications
