Job Requirements
- Minimum one year of post high school education, preferably at culinary institution
- Three to four years of related employment experience
- Hotel experience preferred
- Knowledge of food profession management principles and practices
- Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing and safety
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Hotel experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession including management of people and complex problems
- Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing plans, security, safety programs, personnel and labor relations, business plan preparation, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style for different audiences
Job Duties
- Supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for the hotel as assigned by the Executive Chef to ensure quality and consistency
- Supervise human resources in the kitchen including interviewing, scheduling, training, developing, coaching, counseling, resolving problems, conducting performance and salary reviews, and recommending discipline
- Monitor and control kitchen and equipment sanitation and maintenance to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Monitor and control labor and food costs through scheduling and supervision to meet or exceed budget goals
- Assist in planning and creating menus and daily specials to attract new business and ensure guest satisfaction
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
