Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a bakery preparation position
  • Ability to promote and participate in a team environment
  • Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate with others
  • Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to maneuver in a tightly quartered environment
  • Extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand, handle, feel, reach, taste or smell regularly
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Must be able to walk approximately one-fourth of a mile several times a day
  • Must demonstrate close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment such as walk-in refrigerators
  • Frequent contact with soapy water and cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to operate in moderate noise environments
  • Must have ability to walk with non-skid shoes at all times

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in a bakery preparation position
  • Ability to promote and participate in a team environment
  • Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate with others
  • Degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program preferred
  • ACF professional certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Participate as part of culinary leadership team to supervise the bakery department
  • Assist the pastry chef or executive chef with daily culinary and administrative tasks
  • Specialize in bread, pastry, and baked goods production
  • Promote and participate in a team environment
  • Understand and communicate written and oral directions
  • Adhere to health and safety standards in bakery operations
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting and maneuvering in confined spaces
