We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Sous Chef to join our Culinary department and contribute to our high-standard kitchen operations. This role is ideal for someone with previous food service experience and up-to-date Serve Safe Certification. The Sous Chef will be a pivotal member of the team, responsible for supervising kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and utility personnel, to ensure that every meal prepared meets our exacting standards. The position requires a flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays, to maintain a seamless dining experience for our residents.

In this role, the Sous Chef will actively engage in menu planning and execution, supporting culinary innovation while honoring classic tastes cherished by our residents. Strong leadership skills are essential, as this position involves coordinating staff training, participating in hiring processes, managing employee evaluations, and fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere. The Sous Chef will also assist the Executive Chef and Director of Dining Services with catering operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service for special events.

Sanitation and food safety are critical priorities, and the Sous Chef must ensure rigorous adherence to all health standards, including food handling and kitchen cleanliness. The role demands excellent communication skills for daily interactions with residents to guarantee their satisfaction and respond to their culinary preferences. Confidentiality regarding resident information must be strictly maintained throughout all duties.

Job Duties

  • supervise kitchen staff including cooks prep cooks and utility staff
