Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of culinary experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible full-time or part-time schedules including varied days and hours
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to follow recipes and food production standards
- Compliance with corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
- Availability to work in Cleveland, OH at Case Western Reserve University location
Job Qualifications
- One year of prior culinary experience preferred
- Ability to supervise and coordinate activities of food service associates
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and portion control
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Familiarity with inventory management
- Capability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment sanitation
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
- Ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
- Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and counseling
- Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
- Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Relay relevant information directly to supervisor
- Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
- Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
- Track product production, consumption, and waste
- Inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
- Perform other duties as assigned
