Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible full-time or part-time schedules including varied days and hours
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food production standards
  • Compliance with corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Availability to work in Cleveland, OH at Case Western Reserve University location

Job Qualifications

  • One year of prior culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate activities of food service associates
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and portion control
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
  • Familiarity with inventory management
  • Capability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment sanitation

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and counseling
  • Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
  • Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Relay relevant information directly to supervisor
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Track product production, consumption, and waste
  • Inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Perform other duties as assigned
