Job Requirements

  • Prior institutional cooking experience
  • Availability for full-time or part-time schedules with varying days and hours
  • Ability to handle supervising responsibilities including interviewing and scheduling
  • Compliance with corporate, state, and federal food safety standards
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • Willingness to perform cleaning and maintenance of workstations and equipment
  • Ability to perform duties at an educational facility which may include working varied shifts and potential temporary layoffs during school breaks

Job Qualifications

  • Prior institutional cooking experience
  • Ability to supervise and manage food service associates
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in food preparation following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak production and service hours
  • Customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary actions as appropriate
  • Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
  • Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers
  • Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Tracks product production, consumption, and waste
  • Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Performs other duties as assigned
