The role of Sous Chef at Eurest's facility located at Pratt Whitney in Columbus, GA, offers a fantastic opportunity for culinary professionals seeking a full-time position with competitive pay ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. As Sous Chef, you will be a key player in supporting the Executive Chef by preparing and cooking food while ensuring all culinary creations meet established recipes and production standards. Your role will involve supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and foodservice associates, overseeing food preparation to guarantee timely service aligned with production orders, and ensuring high standards of food presentation and portion control. In the absence of the Executive Chef, you will assume responsibility for the kitchen operations and the team, underscoring the importance of your leadership capabilities.
This position also includes critical responsibilities such as monitoring inventory levels, managing deliveries, and maintaining food safety and sanitation procedures per corporate, state, and federal guidelines. Job Requirements
- Supervisor experience
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including varied day shifts from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to lead and coordinate a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
- Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
- Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action
- Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
- cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Relays relevant information directly to supervisor
- Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers
- Keeps up with peak production and service hours
- Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
- Tracks product production, consumption, and waste
- Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
- Performs other duties as assigned
