We are currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team, a vital role pivotal in supporting the Executive Chef and managing the dietary/kitchen operations. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial supervisory role, overseeing the dietary and kitchen team, ensuring high culinary standards are consistently met while supporting food cost control and inventory management. Your leadership will ensure that all food items and supplies are handled securely and efficiently, and that meal production policies and procedures comply with regulatory guidelines. You will assist in meal service management, monitor product rotation and inventory control, and guarantee accurate portioning and presentation on all menu items. Maintaining food safety is paramount, and you will be responsible for recording and maintaining Food Safety Equipment and Temperature records diligently.
This role requires an individual with strong organizational and time management skills, excellent judgment, and decision-making capability. You will need to demonstrate your ability to manage a dynamic kitchen environment while fostering teamwork and collaboration among staff. The position involves working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the demands of our senior living community.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of sous chef experience
- Current Food Services Sanitation certification
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Physical ability to perform kitchen duties and stand for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Two years sous chef experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Must maintain current Food Services Sanitation certificate
- Associates degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Must demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours
Job Duties
- Provide supervision to dietary/kitchen team and support the Executive Chef
- Assist in controlling food costs
- Assist in maintaining controls and security of all food items and supplies in storage
- Assist in maintaining and enforcing policies and procedures of all meal production, preparing and coordinating
- Assist in managing the meal service
- receive, rotate and inventory products ensuring regulatory compliance
- Ensure correct portioning and plate presentation of all menu items
- Record and maintain Food Safety Equipment Records and Food Safety Temperature Records
- Perform and assist in rotation (FIFO) inventory and security of food and supplies in correct storage area
