The full-time Sous Chef position is located at Talamore Senior Living in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Job Duties
- Help Executive Chef prepare and cook foods
- Coordinate activities of cooks and other food-service associates
- Assume responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in absence of Executive Chef
- Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
- Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews
- Store food following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
- Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
- Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
- Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Relay relevant information directly to supervisor
- Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
- Monitor inventory and deliveries
- Track product production, consumption and waste
- Inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
- Perform other duties as assigned
