We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team located at 401 W. Las Colinas Blvd., Irving, TX. This is a full-time, first-shift opportunity scheduled Monday through Friday with no weekend work, offering an attractive pay range of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in assisting the Executive Chef with food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and leading a team of food-service associates. This position requires a minimum of three years of culinary experience and offers an engaging work environment with opportunities for internal growth and employee referral bonuses.
The Sous Chef position is essential to maintaining the high standards of food quality and service that Eurest is known for. Key responsibilities include cooking and preparing food according to approved recipes and production standards, ensuring timely completion of production orders, and supervising kitchen staff including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance management. The candidate will also manage inventory, uphold food safety and sanitation regulations, and maintain kitchen cleanliness and presentation standards. Customer interaction is part of the role to address complaints professionally and ensure a positive dining experience.

Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
- ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
- supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews, and recommending disciplinary action
- stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils and cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements
- interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner and relays relevant information directly to supervisor
- demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers
- keeps up with peak production and service hours
- monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks product production, consumption and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
- performs other duties as assigned
