Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous leadership experience preferred
  • managers food handlers permit required
  • must be self-motivated and organized
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work independently and multitask

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • college or culinary training is preferred
  • previous leadership experience is preferred
  • must hold a managers food handlers permit which may be facilitated by Spectrum Retirement
  • experience in an office environment answering phones or customer service preferred
  • must be self-motivated organized and professional
  • must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks at one time
  • strong communication skills are critical for working with residents family members and team members

Job Duties

  • hire and train line cooks and dishwashers under general direction of the director of food and beverage
  • place food and supply orders
  • complete and document safety audits and monthly in-service trainings
  • ensure correct plate presentation prior to dishes leaving the kitchen
  • oversee kitchen labor and food cost and monitor budget
  • prepare high quality food
