With its flagship location in Hyde Park well recognized and successful, Forbici is now expanding its reach with the opening of a new venue in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida. This upcoming location is scheduled to open in early 2026 within the newly renovated Sundial, a prime area known for its high visibility and a vibrant mix of both local patrons and tourists. The new Forbici St. Pete location promises to bring the same vibrant energy and exceptional service that the Hyde Park establishment is renowned for. The Sous Chef role at Forbici Modern Italian is a dynamic and pivotal position within this growing establishment. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will take on the essential responsibility of maintaining the highest standards in the daily operations of the kitchen. This includes oversight of food production, ensuring safety and sanitation, and managing kitchen operations efficiently. The ideal candidate for this leadership role will bring a passion for culinary excellence along with strong management and communication skills to foster a positive and productive kitchen environment. This position requires an experienced hospitality professional with at least three years of Sous Chef experience in a similar volume-based establishment, preferably within upscale dining. As part of the Forbici team, the Sous Chef will play a critical role in shaping the culinary vision and delivering outstanding guest experiences, contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Forbici brand. Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working as Sous Chef in a volume-based business, upscaled dining preferred
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and leadership in employee relations matters
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, events/catering software, timekeeping/scheduling, and POS systems
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to understand, speak and follow English instructions
- Must obtain manager food safety certifications
- Flexible and dependable to work full-time day or night shifts, weekends and holidays, up to 50 hours per week
- Culinary degree preferred
