Job Requirements
- Formal culinary education or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in high-volume commercial or institutional kitchen
- knowledge of HACCP, GMP and relevant regulatory standards
- leadership experience managing kitchen staff
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work on-site in Pittsburgh-USA-15231
- capable of handling fast-paced and high-volume food production environment
Job Qualifications
- Culinary education or equivalent experience
- formal culinary training or 3-5 years experience in high-volume commercial or institutional kitchen
- strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA, OSHA regulations
- proven ability to lead, train and motivate kitchen staff in fast-paced production environment
- experience managing large-scale food preparation focusing on quality, consistency and timeliness
- skilled in managing food costs, waste reduction, and daily inventory planning
- high standards for food presentation, portioning, and cleanliness
- strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across departments and shifts
- comfortable using kitchen technology, production tracking systems, and basic Microsoft Office tools
Job Duties
- Executes and supervises food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking food items
- assumes responsibilities of Executive Chef during absence including menu presentations to customers
- supervises, coordinates, and controls kitchen helpers in food storage maintaining tidiness and first in first out principle
- conducts, coordinates, and supervises inventories
- monitors material consumption and orders required food and equipment daily to satisfy production plans
- participates in the development of food products and menus
- updates catering manuals as necessary
- executes countermeasures in production in case of customer complaints
- supports training of kitchen helpers
- maintains and monitors hygiene, health and safety standards and ensures HACCP compliance
- conducts quality control checks according to HACCP regulations
- conducts quality checks of goods received
- monitors and ensures compliance with recipe specifications
- ensures area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
- guides, motivates and develops subordinate employees according to Human Resources Policy
- enforces company values and management principles in the department
- implements and controls cost budget and initiates corrective actions
- participates and supports company initiatives such as Global Quality Standard, HACCP, and Lean Manufacturing
