Job Requirements
- must be at least eighteen years of age
- ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
- comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- able to work primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
- criminal background clearance
- willingness to work Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm
Job Qualifications
- formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent full-time supervisory or management-level work experience
- demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
- proficient written and oral communication skills
- experience in senior housing or related field preferred
- computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- ability to send, receive, and forward email
Job Duties
- ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
- supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service for cleanliness and safety
- lead team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching and accountability
- maintain kitchen sanitation standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
- plan and coordinate menu modifications and special event meals
- manage inventory and order supplies to ensure kitchen is well-stocked
- train and mentor culinary staff to enhance skills and performance
