Job Requirements

  • must be at least eighteen years of age
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
  • ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • able to work primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
  • criminal background clearance
  • willingness to work Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm

Job Qualifications

  • formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent full-time supervisory or management-level work experience
  • demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • experience in senior housing or related field preferred
  • computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ability to send, receive, and forward email

Job Duties

  • ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
  • supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service for cleanliness and safety
  • lead team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching and accountability
  • maintain kitchen sanitation standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
  • plan and coordinate menu modifications and special event meals
  • manage inventory and order supplies to ensure kitchen is well-stocked
  • train and mentor culinary staff to enhance skills and performance
