Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 5 years directly related experience
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification upon hire
  • experience in cooking and cuisine types
  • menu planning skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • math and computer skills
  • ability to maintain food safety standards
  • positive attitude
  • ability to comply with healthcare environment safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 5 years experience in culinary operations
  • knowledge of all types of cooking and cuisine
  • menu planning for cafeteria, special events, and catering
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • good math and computer proficiency
  • ability to follow and enforce safety regulations in healthcare food service
  • certified ServSafe Food Handler
  • experience in a high-volume retail or non-institutional setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel
  • assist with managing kitchen operations
  • interview and evaluate employees
  • ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • coordinate food preparation for patient and retail services
  • monitor food quality and enforce recipe adherence
  • manage food procurement and inventory
  • maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety
  • handle disciplinary actions as necessary
  • assist Executive Chef in their absence
  • develop and revise menus
  • monitor budget and labor costs
  • promote teamwork and customer service excellence
  • ensure HACCP and health department compliance
