Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Five years of foodservice experience or two years with relevant degree
- Leadership and managerial skills required
- American Culinary Federation certification required or certifiable
- Commitment to equal access and opportunity
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Must pass criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and sex offender registry check
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain food safety protocols
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and flexible
- Ability to travel between campus locations
Job Qualifications
- Five years of applicable foodservice experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge or Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field with two years of foodservice experience
- Leadership and managerial abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Understanding and commitment to equal access and equal opportunity
- American Culinary Federation Certified or certifiable as Certified Culinarian or higher
- Commitment to the mission of a two-year comprehensive college
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from a regionally accredited institution
- ACF Certified Chef de Cuisine or higher
- ServSafe certified
Job Duties
- Produce menus for daily food service and catering events
- Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and safety
- Work flexible night and weekend shifts for events
- Supervise and train kitchen staff including work-study and practicum students
- Monitor and control food and labor costs
- Order ingredients and supplies
- Complete weekly inventories and maintain compliance records
- Standardize recipes to ensure consistency
- Manage food safety systems based on HACCP
- Maintain temperature logs for food products and storage
- Coordinate with director to address kitchen issues
- Maintain certifications such as ServSafe and ACF
- Communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with facilities and other departments
- Promote the college's mission
- Perform other duties as assigned
