Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
  • Five years of foodservice experience or two years with relevant degree
  • Leadership and managerial skills required
  • American Culinary Federation certification required or certifiable
  • Commitment to equal access and opportunity
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Must pass criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and sex offender registry check
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain food safety protocols
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and flexible
  • Ability to travel between campus locations

Job Qualifications

  • Five years of applicable foodservice experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge or Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field with two years of foodservice experience
  • Leadership and managerial abilities
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding and commitment to equal access and equal opportunity
  • American Culinary Federation Certified or certifiable as Certified Culinarian or higher
  • Commitment to the mission of a two-year comprehensive college
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from a regionally accredited institution
  • ACF Certified Chef de Cuisine or higher
  • ServSafe certified

Job Duties

  • Produce menus for daily food service and catering events
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and safety
  • Work flexible night and weekend shifts for events
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff including work-study and practicum students
  • Monitor and control food and labor costs
  • Order ingredients and supplies
  • Complete weekly inventories and maintain compliance records
  • Standardize recipes to ensure consistency
  • Manage food safety systems based on HACCP
  • Maintain temperature logs for food products and storage
  • Coordinate with director to address kitchen issues
  • Maintain certifications such as ServSafe and ACF
  • Communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with facilities and other departments
  • Promote the college's mission
  • Perform other duties as assigned
