Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in culinary arts or related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Minimum two years of foodservice experience or five years of applicable foodservice experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge
- Leadership and managerial abilities including excellent organizational and communication skills
- American Culinary Federation certification or certifiable status
- Commitment to equal access and equal opportunity

- Must maintain ServSafe Manager and applicable certifications
- Ability to train and supervise staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on first day of employment
- Successful completion of required background checks including criminal, motor vehicle, and sex offender registry
- Physical ability to perform job duties including standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions

Job Qualifications
- Five years of applicable foodservice experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge or associate's degree in culinary arts or a related field from a regionally accredited institution with two years of foodservice experience
- Leadership and managerial abilities including excellent organizational and communication skills
- Understanding and commitment to equal access and equal opportunity
- American Culinary Federation certified or certifiable as a Certified Culinarian or higher
- Commitment to the mission of the comprehensive two-year college and its role in total community development
- Preferred qualifications include associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field from a regionally accredited institution
- American Culinary Federation certified as Certified Chef de Cuisine or higher
- ServSafe certified
Job Duties
- Production of menus for daily food service at the North Little Rock location as well as support for catering events on all campus locations
- Maintain high standards of quality control hygiene and health and safety
- Be available to work night and weekend shifts involving a flexible work schedule to accommodate events
- Coordinate with director and catering coordinator to write schedules evaluate and direct all team members including work study and practicum students as assigned
- Monitor and approve hours absences and leave
- Coordinate with director to monitor and control food and labor costs for efficient food service delivery
- Coordinate with director to order ingredients and supplies necessary for food service operations
- Coordinate with director to complete weekly inventories and maintain records that comply with applicable UA-PTC and government policies
- Standardize recipes for food service menus to provide consistency in production and service
- Supervise and train team members in the kitchen on job duties food presentation buffets and retail items
- Ensure food served is of high quality properly prepared according to recipe and expedited efficiently while managing and tracking waste
- Maintain food safety management system based on HACCP principles and train staff to follow procedures
- Maintain temperature logs for food products and storage areas including refrigeration freezers hot and cold wells
- Coordinate with director to take immediate action on kitchen problems
- Maintain professional certifications such as ServSafe Manager and American Culinary Federation certifications
- Communicate professionally and demonstrate organizational and detail-oriented skills with flexibility and adaptability
- Work directly with CAHMI faculty staff and students to cater special events
- Coordinate with other departments to provide full service hospitality and maintain cleanliness of common areas
- Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
