Job Qualifications

  • Five years of applicable foodservice experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge or associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field with two years of foodservice experience
  • Leadership and managerial abilities including excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding and commitment to equal access and equal opportunity
  • American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certified or Certifiable as a Certified Culinarian or higher (CC or CPC)
  • Commitment to the mission of a comprehensive two-year college and community development
  • Preferred qualifications include Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field
  • ACF Certified as a Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) or higher
  • ServSafe certified

Job Duties

  • Produce menus for daily food service and catering events at multiple campus locations
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
  • Work night and weekend shifts to support events as needed
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate kitchen team members, including work study and practicum students
  • Monitor and control food and labor costs efficiently
  • Order ingredients and supplies, and complete weekly inventories following policy requirements
  • Maintain and standardize recipes to ensure consistency in food production and service
  • Maintain food safety management system based on HACCP principles and maintain temperature logs
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to address kitchen issues and support hospitality services
  • Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College and perform other duties as assigned
