Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Asian Chef in upscale or luxury dining environments
  • Formal culinary training preferred
  • equivalent experience considered
  • Experience working in multicultural, high-volume kitchens
  • Excellent knife skills

Job Duties

  • Support the Executive Chef in managing all back-of-house operations including food preparation, execution, and kitchen sanitation
  • Lead the preparation and execution of Asian menus, ensuring authenticity, consistency, and innovation
  • Assist with menu development and tastings for the hotel restaurant, private events, and banquets
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet luxury and brand standards at all times
  • Act as a role model for culinary standards and workplace professionalism
  • Train and mentor line cooks, prep cooks, and stewards on Asian techniques and kitchen safety
  • Foster a collaborative and disciplined kitchen environment aligned with hotel culture
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety codes, including proper storage, rotation, and sanitation
  • Assist in scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations of kitchen staff
  • Help manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for assigned food areas
  • Ensure food is consistently delivered with timeliness, accuracy, and artistry
  • Support private dining and banquet events with custom Chinese cuisine offerings
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and banquet teams to ensure seamless service for VIP guests and special events
