Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or certified apprenticeship completion
  • Minimum 2-3 years management experience in high-volume or contract foodservice environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Flexibility to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or graduation from a certified apprenticeship program with 2-3 years management experience in high-volume venues or contract foodservice for sports and entertainment venues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in deadline-oriented environments
  • Strong customer service commitment with demonstrated initiative, leadership, and management skills
  • Experience managing in a union environment is a plus
  • Ability to interact with all management levels
  • Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Strong leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and developing menu items and recipes for concessions, catering and premium locations at Angel Stadium
  • Assist in maintaining high standards of sanitation and cleanliness
  • Aid the Executive Chef in maintaining the highest possible health department ratings
  • Assist in training, safety, sanitation and accident prevention controls within the kitchen
  • Develop and test recipes as well as techniques for food preparation and presentation to ensure high quality
  • Assure consistent food qualities in presentation and preparation
  • Control labor and operating expenses through scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions and inventory control within budget guidelines
  • Ensure recipes and methods are followed
  • Maintain kitchen equipment
  • Report and document hazardous conditions or unsafe practices
  • Contribute to menu specifications including pricing information
  • Work directly with Executive Chef on food production and menu development
  • Ensure high and consistent food qualities
  • Check and taste all food before events
  • Conduct meetings and pre-shifts to update staff
  • Ensure timely product dispatch and proper temperatures
  • Act as the last person out ensuring proper kitchen closing
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
  • Complete all closing duties
  • Conduct staff training as assigned
