Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of relevant kitchen or culinary experience
- ServSafe certification obtained promptly after employment
- Valid food handler’s card if required by state law
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Capable of working in hot or cold kitchen environments
- Comfortable communicating in English
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure
- Willingness to participate in special events as scheduled
- Flexibility to transfer to other worksites as needed
- Adherence to company scheduling and time management protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of relevant kitchen or culinary experience
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with kitchen staff
- Basic knowledge of menu preparation and inventory management
- Effective communication skills in English
- Proven ability to maintain high quality food presentation and consistency
- Experience with kitchen compliance and inventory software is preferred
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment such as blenders, broilers, convection ovens, and knives
- ServSafe certification acquired or willingness to obtain
- Valid food handler’s card if required by state
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize duties
- Demonstrated problem sensitivity and critical thinking skills
Job Duties
- Assist executive chef in managing daily kitchen activities such as preparing, seasoning, and cooking dishes
- Manage kitchen operations effectively in the absence of executive chef
- Aid with menu preparation and ensure food quality and freshness
- Monitor ordering and stocking needs
- Ensure overall cleanliness of kitchen meets GHC health and equipment standards
- Perform periodic inspections of kitchen for food preparation quality, appearance, and sanitation
- Lead kitchen team in chef's absence
- Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff
- Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients
- Ensure first-in, first-out food rotation and proper food product dating
- Keep service line prepped and stocked before and during prime hours
- Assist with supervision of food preparation and presentation
- Maintain kitchen organization and support staff training
- Verify food storage units meet standards
- Assist executive chef with duties as needed
- Participate in up to three special events per semester
- Maintain professional appearance and attire
- Communicate client feedback to chef and management
- Receive and check inventory deliveries
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors and clients
- Abide by scheduling and time management protocols
- Assist with staff scheduling and time management
- Wash and clean raw food products
- Follow proper hold time standards for heated products
- Stock and restock items online
- Transfer to other worksites as needed
- Perform other assigned duties
