Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of experience in culinary or food and beverage industry or two-year degree in relevant field with two years of experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Experience in managing kitchen operations
  • Capability to train and mentor staff
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work full-time
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in culinary or food and beverage
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field with 2 years of experience
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong culinary skills including food preparation and presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle guest relations and resolve complaints effectively
  • Experience with labor management systems and employee training
  • Capable of organizing and prioritizing work to meet goals
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance

Job Duties

  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Estimates daily production needs and communicates these to kitchen personnel
  • Assists Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types including for special guests or functions
  • Develops new culinary applications and creates decorative food displays
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Performs duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary
  • Recognizes superior quality products, presentations and flavor
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Leads shifts while personally preparing food items
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence the team
  • Encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Maintains productivity and ensures employees understand expectations
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships within the team
  • Communicates performance expectations and recognizes successful performance
  • Provides exceptional customer service and handles guest feedback and complaints
  • Achieves, prioritizes, and organizes culinary and budget goals
  • Utilizes labor management systems for scheduling and tracking
  • Trains employees in safety procedures
  • Coaches, mentors, and assists staff to improve knowledge and skills
  • Participates in performance appraisal process and reports to managers and Human Resources
  • Provides timely information to supervisors and colleagues
  • Analyzes information to solve problems
