We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, MT. This is a unique opportunity to oversee all culinary food operations within a busy medical campus, where quality and nutrition are essential to patient care and staff satisfaction. The Sous Chef will play a critical role in leading and mentoring the kitchen team, implementing streamlined culinary systems, and ensuring that all food preparation meets the highest standards of taste, consistency, and safety. This position requires a strong leader with hands-on culinary expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

As a Sous Chef at Billings Clinic Hospital, you will collaborate closely with the culinary team to design menus that cater to the diverse needs of patients and staff, incorporating nutritional guidelines and current culinary trends. You will be responsible for procurement and purchasing, ensuring the efficient use of resources while maintaining quality standards. The Sous Chef will also cultivate positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, enhancing the overall dining experience through exceptional service and innovation.

Job Requirements

  • minimum education requirement - high school diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Job Qualifications

  • strong culinary background in a high-volume environment
  • strong leadership skills and experience
  • menu planning experience and a strong understanding of current culinary trends
  • proficient computer skills, highly organized, and detail-focused

Job Duties

  • help implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for hospital
  • supervise, develop, and mentor frontline staff
  • procurement and purchasing
  • help create menus based on client needs
  • help create interpersonal relationships with clients
