The Steel District is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join its dynamic culinary team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment and is ready to take the next step in their culinary career. The Sous Chef will be pivotal in assisting the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation are met. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire and support the kitchen team during busy service hours, manage inventory and ordering, and maintain stringent food safety and sanitation standards.

In addition to supporting day-to-day kitchen activities, the Sous Chef will play a key role in menu execution and the creation of specials, contributing to the restaurant’s innovative and seasonal offerings. This opportunity is ideal for culinary professionals with solid knowledge of kitchen operations and cooking techniques who are eager to demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Job Duties

  • Assist the executive chef in daily kitchen operations
  • lead and support the kitchen team during service
  • ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
  • help with menu execution, prep, and specials
  • maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
  • assist with ordering, inventory, and minimizing waste
  • train and mentor kitchen staff as needed
