Job Requirements
- minimum 1 year of experience as a sous chef
- must be 18 years or older
- ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, including weekends
- commitment to quality and service standards
- strong leadership skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to relocate to Rochester, NY if not currently local
- eligibility to work full-time
Job Qualifications
- culinary degree or equivalent training
- experience as a sous chef in an upscale or fine dining setting
- strong leadership and communication skills
- knowledge of Japanese and Asian cooking techniques
- passion for Japanese culinary traditions
- ability to work effectively under pressure
- familiarity with inventory management and scheduling
Job Duties
- assist the chef in developing menu items and daily specials
- lead and motivate the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations
- maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation
- manage inventory, food cost control, and scheduling
- train and develop kitchen staff
- ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- support continuous culinary innovation and creativity
