Job Requirements

  • Three years of prior supervisor experience required
  • Three years of prior cook and/or chef experience required
  • Open availability preferred including some nights and weekends
  • Ability to work full time
  • Large scale kitchen experience a plus
  • Ability to perform essential duties in educational facility environment

  • Experience with large scale kitchen operations is a plus
  • Ability to lead and coordinate kitchen staff efficiently
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage inventory and production tracking

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action
  • Stores food in designated areas following all food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • Keeps display equipment clean during meal service
  • Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly manner
  • Demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and explains to associates and customers
  • Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Tracks product production, consumption and waste
  • Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Performs other duties as assigned
