With over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton Ladies and Gentlemen create exceptional experiences that leave a lasting impression on guests. The hotel prides itself on a culture of creativity, thoughtfulness, and compassion, setting the standard for rare and special luxury service globally. At The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, employees are empowered to deliver excellence in care and comfort, embracing the Gold Standards that are the foundation of the brand's worldwide reputation. These include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values, which guide every team member to continuously improve guest satisfaction and uphold the highest standards in all aspects of their work.

This is a full-time management role within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category, offering an hourly wage ranging from $37.50 to $50.48, with eligibility for bonuses. The position is based onsite at the luxury hotel and involves hands-on leadership in all kitchen operations. The primary responsibility is to oversee the overall success of daily kitchen operations by performing culinary tasks alongside managing the kitchen team. The role demands a leader who exhibits culinary talents while ensuring that all food-related functions meet the highest standards. The position requires continuous efforts to improve both guest and associate satisfaction, strictly maintain the operating budget, and ensure consistent production of high-quality food. The successful candidate will supervise all kitchen areas, guide and develop staff including direct reports, and uphold sanitation and food safety standards. This role is pivotal in supporting the Executive Chef and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal food regulations, including OSHA and health department standards.

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for multiple core work activities, including assisting in the development and design of culinary applications and presentations, ensuring proper food handling, maintaining kitchen equipment, estimating and communicating daily production needs, and leading kitchen shifts. Leadership skills are critical as the manager will utilize interpersonal and communication skills to influence, motivate, and encourage the kitchen team. Building trust, respect, and cooperation within the team is essential, along with administering property policies fairly and consistently. The role includes setting clear performance expectations aligned with job descriptions and recognizing successful performance outcomes.

Exceptional customer service is another vital component of this position. The manager will provide outstanding service to enhance guest satisfaction and retention, act as a positive example for guest relations, empower associates to perform at their best, and handle guest feedback and complaints effectively. The role also involves achieving and exceeding various goals related to performance, budget, and team development. The use of labor management systems for scheduling and tracking attendance, as well as training associates in safety procedures, further defines the operational responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities include effective communication with supervisors and team members through various channels, analyzing information to solve problems, and participating in departmental meetings. The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco offers a dynamic and enriching work environment where diversity is celebrated, and non-discrimination policies are strictly enforced. Joining this team means becoming part of a global family that nurtures personal and professional growth while upholding the iconic standards of The Ritz-Carlton brand.
