The community prides itself on promoting a rewarding lifestyle through individualized comprehensive support that fosters continuing independence. With a focus on authenticity, teamwork, compassion, commitment, and resilience, Ivy Park at San Lauren nurtures meaningful relationships among residents, families, and team members, creating a warm and supportive environment. It forms part of Oakmont Management Group's extensive portfolio spread across California, Hawaii, and Nevada, providing team members with significant opportunities for career growth, relocation, and travel.
The role of the Sous Chef at Ivy Park at San Lauren is integral to maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence the community is known for. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $20 to $22 per hour and presents an opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment. The Sous Chef is responsible for preparing food according to approved menus and property policies, ensuring compliance with all nutritional, sanitary, and safety standards. Serving as the second-in-command in the culinary department, the Sous Chef plays a critical role in meal planning, food preparation, and presentation, always aiming to enhance the dining experience for residents, their families, and visitors. The position requires flexibility to step in as the acting Department Manager during the Culinary Services Director’s absence, overseeing staffing, supervision, and food service operations.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about senior care and culinary arts, possessing knowledge of assisted living and dementia care dining needs. Responsibilities include assisting with special events and community activities, maintaining accurate inventories, controlling food quality and portions, and adhering to sanitary regulations. The Sous Chef ensures that all meals are timely, appetizing, and consistent with menu plans, fostering an individualized culinary program responsive to residents’ preferences. Given the community's focus on safety and health, the sous chef also participates in adherence to COVID-19 protocols and ongoing health screenings, underscoring the commitment to a safe living environment.
At Oakmont Management Group, the approach to senior living emphasizes compassion and creating a joyful, family-like community atmosphere. Team members are carefully selected for their skill, experience, and dedication to working with seniors. The company offers a broad suite of benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and other programs designed to support employee well-being and professional growth. This role is perfect for culinary professionals looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a stable, rewarding career path within a respected senior living provider.
