The organization prides itself on creating meaningful moments across campus by serving a diverse community and supporting teamwork, confidence-building, and real-world skill development among its team members. As an advanced level or lead role, the Culinary Specialist will be integral to the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, playing a key role in food preparation, quality control, and maintaining health and safety standards. This role typically involves supervising non-routine tasks and mentoring less experienced staff, contributing to overall team success.

The Culinary Specialist position is designed for individuals with deep subject matter expertise who can lead challenging assignments and projects, often necessitating cross-team coordination and the development of innovative culinary methods and techniques. Responsibilities include preparing both hot and cold foods according to specified recipes, ensuring all food items meet quality and safety standards, and assisting in maintaining compliance with New York State, Monroe County, and university health codes. The role also demands skills in time management, multi-tasking, and exceptional customer service. Scheduled work hours for this position are Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with flexibility required during academic breaks and university-wide events. The position is based on campus at the Commons location and offers a compensation range of $20.00 to $28.00 per hour, classified as non-exempt under FLSA guidelines. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and provide necessary application materials such as a resume or curriculum vitae.
