Renowned for its sophisticated oceanfront setting, The Setai harmoniously integrates the elegance of Asian traditions with the iconic Art Deco style of Miami Beach. This unique combination creates an intimate, private retreat highly sought after by discerning travelers who appreciate refined luxury, culture, and exceptional service. The hotel provides guests with a tranquil oasis that simultaneously connects them to the dynamic attractions of the area, including the beach, nightlife, and vibrant local culture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Asian culinary arts, including expertise in diverse techniques such as wok cooking, tandoor, dim sum, curries, sushi, and sashimi. This full-time, management-level position requires a culinary professional who thrives in a high-volume luxury kitchen environment and demonstrates exceptional leadership skills.

The Sous Chef at The Setai plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the culinary team during service, ensuring that every dish meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. Passion for culinary excellence combined with organizational expertise is crucial to maintaining the kitchen's seamless operation. Beyond daily supervision, the Sous Chef contributes to the training, mentoring, and development of junior cooks and culinary trainees, including international hospitality students, fostering a collaborative and respectful multicultural team environment.

Additionally, the Sous Chef is responsible for upholding rigorous food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards as mandated by health regulations. This position also involves assisting with inventory management, controlling food costs, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Candidates who have graduated from accredited culinary institutions and possess prior supervisory experience in upscale or luxury restaurants will find this role both challenging and rewarding.

At The Setai, employee well-being is a priority, and the hotel offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and short-term disability coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, generous paid time off, and exclusive discounts on food, beverage, and spa services. Joining our culinary team means becoming part of a community dedicated to exceptional quality and hospitality in a world-class setting.
