The organization emphasizes a resident-centered approach, ensuring that every aspect of daily living, from dining to social activities, enhances the well-being and satisfaction of its community members. Enso Village employs a diverse team of professionals who are passionate about improving the lives of seniors through collaboration, continuous learning, and high standards of service.
The Culinary Associate role at Enso Village is a vital position within the Culinary Services team, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the overall dining experience of residents. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this position supports kitchen operations and food production to ensure meals are prepared with utmost care, quality, and consistency. The Culinary Associate assists in managing daily kitchen activities, preparing menu items using both classical and contemporary cooking methods, and maintaining presentation standards that meet the establishment's hospitality expectations. This role is responsible for taste-testing food, overseeing portions and plating, and ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines and special requests, particularly during peak service times.
The position involves strict enforcement and adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols, including HACCP standards, proper temperature controls, and sanitation of all kitchen equipment and areas. The Culinary Associate also supports team leadership by supervising kitchen staff during assigned shifts, providing coaching, and assisting with training new team members. Collaboration with the Executive Chef and Purchasing Coordinator is essential in terms of production planning, inventory management, and implementing waste reduction strategies to maintain operational efficiency.
This role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining an unwavering commitment to food quality and resident satisfaction. Enso Village offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $32.00 to $38.00, reflective of experience, education, and skills. Beyond salary, the organization provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans with employer match, generous paid time off, subsidized healthy meals, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
This position is ideal for culinary professionals with 3-5 years of experience in restaurants, hotels, fine dining, or senior living communities who have a passion for culinary arts and community-focused dining. Candidates with prior supervisory experience and ServSafe Food Protection Certification or the willingness to obtain it are highly preferred. The role requires physical stamina for standing long hours, safe operation of kitchen equipment, and a dedication to maintaining a safe and welcoming work environment. Enso Village embraces diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply, promising a supportive workplace that respects individual differences and promotes equal opportunity.
