The Sous Chef role at the ASM Irving Convention Center is an immediate opening that offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who thrive in high-volume banquet settings. This key leadership position plays an essential role in managing kitchen operations and supporting the Executive Chef to deliver outstanding food quality and service. The Sous Chef is primarily responsible for leading a team of 10 or more cooks with varying levels of experience. The role involves maintaining strict food costs, developing creative menu ideas, and continuously assessing the needs of both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations. Collaboration with other members of the Food and Beverage team is crucial to ensure guests enjoy an amazing dining experience from start to finish.

Job Requirements
- At least four years of culinary experience in a high volume banquet facility
- Ability to lead and manage a team of cooks
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Physical ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties
- Primary responsibility is leading a staff of 10 or more cooks with varying degrees of experience, maintaining food costs, creating menu ideas and assessing FOH and BOH needs
- Responsible for working in conjunction with other members of the Food and Beverage staff to ensure guests have an amazing dining experience
- Food quality and consistency is essential
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises all kitchen and stewarding staff, in absence of Executive Chef
- Assist the Executive Chef in all staffing and employee relations including performance reviews and disciplinary documentation
- Touch tables and ensure each line cook is producing food up to our standards
