We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in supporting the daily kitchen operations, leading by example, and maintaining the high food-quality standards that our guests expect. This position offers hourly compensation ranging from $18.00 to $24.00 depending on experience.
As a Sous Chef at Raintree Golf and Event Center, you will assist in the direct supervision of culinary staff, ensuring efficient food production, managing scheduling, training team members, maintaining quality control, and overseeing food cost management. This role requires a proactive approach to managing kitchen operations, including supervising food preparation for specific kitchen areas such as the restaurant line and banquet services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to oversee and ensure the consistent production of high-quality dishes by adhering strictly to established recipes and food preparation standards.
Additionally, the Sous Chef will monitor the maintenance of kitchen equipment, implement and uphold sanitation programs, maintain daily food preparation lists, and assist with food product ordering. Effective communication and coordination with other departments such as Banquets, Restaurant, and Snack Bar are crucial for smooth kitchen operations. You will also be responsible for training and supervising kitchen associates, ensuring proper food receiving, storage, and rotation practices in compliance with health regulations, and assisting in personnel management including interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

- Regular and reliable attendance
Job Qualifications
- Certificate from college technical school or accredited facility
- three to six months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Duties
- Oversees and manages food preparation for a specific area of the kitchen such as restaurant line banquets shifts
- Supervises and ensures production of consistently high-quality food
- Adheres to established control procedures for cost and quality such as food production charts par inventories standardized recipes use records food costing sheets etc
- Monitors and checks the maintenance of all kitchen equipment daily
- Maintains a quality sanitation program
- Maintains and implements daily food prep lists
- Assists Executive Chef with the ordering of all food products
