The Boardroom & The Speakeasy is a distinguished fine dining restaurant located in Novato, California. This restaurant prides itself on delivering an exceptional culinary experience in an intimate setting with only 45 seats, allowing the kitchen team to focus on quality, detail, and personalized service. We are currently seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen and has the leadership skills to manage and inspire a team of six cooks. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Chef by overseeing food preparation, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring consistency in dish quality and presentation. This position offers an hourly wage of $40.00 and requires availability for 32 to 45 hours per week, with an emphasis on both flexibility and collaboration. Job Requirements

  • minimum of 3 years sous chef experience
  • ability to manage and lead a team of 6 cooks
  • strong knife skills including butchering meat and seafood
  • ability to cost out food efficiently
  • strong attention to food detail and presentation
  • ability to maintain inventory and handle food ordering
  • excellent communication skills between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
  • strong organizational skills with ability to multitask
  • ability to follow current established kitchen systems and procedures
  • bilingual ability preferred but not required
