The sous chef position at Highly Likely is critical in supporting the head chef by supervising daily back-of-house operations. In this hands-on role, the sous chef will manage kitchen staff, oversee food preparation and cooking, and ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant’s high standards for quality and presentation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, proactive inventory management, and adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations. The sous chef will also be involved in developing and launching new recipes, collaborating closely with the head chef to keep the menu innovative and exciting. As part of the kitchen management team, the sous chef will coordinate food orders, train staff on prep work and plating techniques, maintain kitchen equipment, and oversee catering orders. Success in this position demands a passion for food, strong leadership abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. Working evenings and weekends is essential to meet operational needs.
