We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. As a Sous Chef, you will be essential in maintaining our high standards of excellence by working closely with the Chef team to ensure every dish is prepared and plated to perfection. Your leadership skills will be critical in overseeing the back-of-house team, nurturing a positive work culture, and ensuring daily kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence menu development, mentor kitchen staff, manage food and labor costs, and play a significant part in shaping the culinary direction of our establishment. This is a full-time position offering an annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000, reflecting our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent dedicated to culinary excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrates reliability, consistency, and strong personal accountability in daily operations
  • Supports the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef by executing systems, standards, and priorities with precision
  • Leads by example on the line and in prep, modeling professionalism, focus, and work ethic
  • Shows strong attention to detail in food quality, presentation, and station organization
  • Coaches and reinforces proper techniques, recipes, and procedures with the kitchen team
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with back of house, front of house, and leadership partners
  • Adapts quickly to changing service demands and maintains composure under pressure
  • Balances learning and growth with consistent execution and operational discipline
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods during service
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to maintain high culinary standards consistently
  • Experience in training and developing kitchen staff
  • Skilled in managing food and labor costs
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and maintain composure under pressure
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification preferred

  • Ensure consistency in preparation and execution of each dish
  • Responsible for recipe adherence and clear communication of production methods
  • Conduct ongoing training and development of kitchen staff
  • Oversee hiring and scheduling to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Manage and monitor food and labor costs
  • Collaborate with the Chef team on new dish development
  • Create unity and support among kitchen team members
  • Maintain culture through business evolution
  • Hold staff and self accountable for standards
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on specials and menu changes
  • Lead by example assisting line and prep cooks
  • Perform detailed line checks each shift to confirm food quality and consistency
