We are currently seeking enthusiastic kitchen operators to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced sous chef who thrives in high-volume kitchen environments and values the principles of scratch-made cooking. This role requires a professional with high energy, self-motivation, and a dedication to providing exceptional hospitality. As a sous chef at Whiskey Cake, you will play a pivotal role in running an efficient kitchen operation, ensuring safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed, and maintaining the highest standard of food quality. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with restaurant managers to oversee various aspects of food and beverage service. This position offers a competitive salary in the range of $52,000 to $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience, along with a flexible work schedule and a comprehensive benefits package that includes up to 17 days of paid time off, 401K matching, insurance coverage after 60 days, and free access to mental health services.
The role encompasses managing kitchen operations comprehensively, supporting daily shifts, and ensuring that food quality standards are met while managing waste effectively. You will also be responsible for scheduling employees, overseeing inventory and purchasing processes, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen facility aligned with local health regulations, and focusing on training and developing hourly personnel. This position calls for a leader who can skilfully manage a team, handle budget parameters, and utilize scheduling and restaurant software programs efficiently. Job Requirements
- 2+ years of kitchen experience in a similar role
- Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to manage inventory and purchasing processes
- Familiarity with scheduling software and restaurant management systems
- Commitment to providing authentic hospitality
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of kitchen experience in a similar role
- A degree in Culinary Arts is not required but is a plus
- Experience in leading and supervising hourly team members
- Experience working within budget parameters
- Knowledge of scheduling and restaurant software programs
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
Job Duties
- Manage kitchen operations from all aspects as well as provide support throughout the shift
