Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR Associate degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Two years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of sanitation and food safety regulations
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Capable of managing kitchen operations and budgets effectively

Job Duties

  • Manage kitchen shift operations ensuring compliance with all food and beverage policies
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate to kitchen personnel
  • Assist Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types including special events
  • Develop new culinary applications and create decorative food displays
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen workers
  • Lead shifts by preparing food items and executing requests
  • Utilize communication skills to lead and encourage team members
  • Advocate sound financial decision making and demonstrate integrity
  • Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Maintain employee productivity and enforce performance expectations
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handle guest complaints
  • Achieve and exceed culinary and budgetary goals
  • Schedule staff effectively using Labor Management System
  • Train employees in safety procedures
  • Coach and mentor staff to improve knowledge and skills
  • Participate in performance appraisal processes
  • Communicate and solve operational problems
