Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Or two-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with two years experience in culinary or related area
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle guest feedback and resolve complaints
  • Experience with labor scheduling and budget management

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage kitchen shift operations ensuring compliance with food and beverage policies
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate to kitchen personnel
  • Assist Executive Chef with kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Prepare and cook various food items including special event menus
  • Develop new culinary applications, ideas, and decorative food displays
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen staff
  • Lead kitchen shifts and execute food preparation as per specifications
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate team members
  • Foster trust, respect, and cooperation among kitchen staff
  • Maintain employee productivity and enforce performance expectations
  • Set a positive example and manage guest relations for exceptional customer service
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints effectively
  • Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals
  • Schedule staff using labor management systems to meet business demands
  • Train employees in safety and sanitation procedures
  • Identify developmental needs and provide coaching or mentoring
  • Participate in employee performance appraisals
  • Communicate and assist employees in understanding guest needs
