Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for Latin American cuisine, particularly Chino-Latino cuisine
  • Understanding and experience with wok cooking techniques and Peruvian/Cuban cooking techniques
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with food handling, safety, and compliant restaurant guidelines for Mecklenburg County
  • High school diploma (culinary degree preferred)

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation
  • Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of menu items, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and kitchen supplies to maintain efficient operations
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen
  • Contribute to menu development and the creation of new dishes that reflect the vibrant flavors of Latin America
  • Monitor and control food costs to maximize profitability
