Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of post-high school education, culinary education preferred
- Five or more years of employment in a related position
- Prior experience in hotel or food service management preferred
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to monitor and control food and labor costs
- Capability to train and develop kitchen staff
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of post-high school education, culinary education preferred
- Five or more years of experience in a related position
- Hotel experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
- Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, labor relations, budgeting, and quality assurance
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with adaptability to different audiences
Job Duties
- Manage the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurant(s) and room service to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage human resources in the kitchen including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, developing, and coaching staff
- Schedule and oversee the maintenance and sanitation of kitchen and related areas to comply with health and safety regulations
- Monitor, analyze, and control labor and food costs while preparing reports and schedules to meet or exceed budget goals
- Promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and expenses
- Assist the Executive Chef in creating, costing, and implementing seasonal and special menus
- Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Chef in their absence
- Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
