Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years culinary experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks
- strong interpersonal skills
- familiarity with relevant health regulations
- willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a culinary environment
- strong leadership and team management skills
- excellent knowledge of kitchen operations and culinary techniques
- ability to train and mentor staff effectively
- good communication and organizational skills
- experience with inventory management and payroll processes
- understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
Job Duties
- Train all kitchen associates on job duties including plate presentation and display work
- write schedules and evaluate kitchen personnel
- maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- write and present disciplinary actions as needed
- provide associates with necessary tools and equipment
- promptly address kitchen problems
- participate in department, staff, and kitchen meetings
- conduct monthly kitchen inventory
- ensure all food served is high quality and properly prepared
- assist in setting goals and standards to enhance reputation and profitability
- supervise kitchen staff and sanitation associates in absence of Executive Chef
- maintain all use records and recipe documentation
- prepare recipe cards and picture presentations
- ensure timely submission of payroll hours to accounting
