Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3 years culinary experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • familiarity with relevant health regulations
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a culinary environment
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent knowledge of kitchen operations and culinary techniques
  • ability to train and mentor staff effectively
  • good communication and organizational skills
  • experience with inventory management and payroll processes
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • culinary degree or relevant certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Train all kitchen associates on job duties including plate presentation and display work
  • write schedules and evaluate kitchen personnel
  • maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
  • write and present disciplinary actions as needed
  • provide associates with necessary tools and equipment
  • promptly address kitchen problems
  • participate in department, staff, and kitchen meetings
  • conduct monthly kitchen inventory
  • ensure all food served is high quality and properly prepared
  • assist in setting goals and standards to enhance reputation and profitability
  • supervise kitchen staff and sanitation associates in absence of Executive Chef
  • maintain all use records and recipe documentation
  • prepare recipe cards and picture presentations
  • ensure timely submission of payroll hours to accounting
