Job Requirements
- Two plus years of post-high school education
- Five plus years of related work experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Availability to work regular shifts
Job Qualifications
- Two plus years of post-high school education with culinary education preferred
- Five plus years of experience in a related position
- Prior hotel experience is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of food service management principles and practices
- Understanding of hotel operations including marketing, security, labor relations, business planning, and quality assurance
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to various audiences
Job Duties
- Manage the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the hotel’s restaurant(s) and room service to ensure a quality, consistent product
- Manage human resources in the kitchen including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, developing, coaching, counseling, and conducting performance reviews
- Schedule and manage maintenance and sanitation of kitchen and equipment to ensure health and safety standards are met
- Monitor, analyze, and control labor and food costs while preparing relevant reports and schedules
- Promote accident prevention programs to minimize liabilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in creating, costing, and implementing seasonal and special menus
- Assume Executive Chef responsibilities in their absence
- Comply with attendance rules and maintain availability
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
