Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years sous chef experience in fine dining
- Current Serve Safe handler certificate
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and TEAMS
- Ability to maintain professional presence and confidentiality
- Basic arithmetic knowledge
- English language proficiency
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and remain calm under pressure
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- College degree in culinary arts or food and beverage preferred
- Minimum of 2 years as Sous Chef in fine dining environment
- Experience in quality food production in multi-outlet, high volume kitchen
- Menu development experience preferred
- Must possess current Serve Safe handler certificate
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and delegate effectively
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor staff
- Strong problem-solving skills and calmness under pressure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and TEAMS
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Job Duties
- Assisting the Executive Chef with day-to-day operations including banquet functions and timely food production
- Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and kitchen workers
- Managing line cooks and ensuring food production standards
- Setting written par levels to regulate proper food quantities
- Monitoring quality of raw and cooked food products
- Demonstrating new cooking techniques and mentoring staff
- Developing and implementing purchasing and receiving procedures
- Managing departmental expenses including food costs and supplies
- Participating in budgeting processes
- Providing direction for menu development and food presentation
- Inspecting storage areas for cleanliness and temperature control
- Ensuring rotation and proper usage of food products
- Supervising all kitchen employees and enforcing company policies
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards
- Enforcing employee meal and rest period adherence
- Conducting pre-shift briefings and training
- Providing performance guidance and fostering teamwork
- Ensuring compliance with food handling guidelines and conflict resolution
