Job Requirements

  • must possess fluent use of the english language
  • ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
  • ability to write reports, business correspondence and operational procedures
  • ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior leadership, managers, co-workers, clients, guests, staff and the general public
  • ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
  • ability to evaluate data from a variety of sources to establish trends, recognize patterns and realize opportunities
  • ability to think and reason strategically to establish goals and objectives on a regular basis
  • ability to assess, recommend and act to maintain company standards and meet organizational expectations
  • ability and sensitivity to customize and individualize responses to situations for each guest or staff member in alignment to the standards and values of miraval culinary and f&b departments

Job Qualifications

  • culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 3 years in a supervisory kitchen role
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • excellent knife skills and equipment handling
  • ability to manage kitchen staff effectively
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
  • familiarity with dietary restrictions and nutritional needs

Job Duties

  • assist the Chef de Cuisine in providing leadership and supervision to culinary staff
  • serve as lead supervisor on duty each shift
  • coordinate guests' nutritional needs
  • assist in staff scheduling
  • manage product and supplies inventory
  • prepare mis en place for soups, vegetables, and meats
  • oversee kitchen sanitation and cleanliness
  • ensure safe use of kitchen equipment and compliance with temperature controls
  • uphold kitchen rules and standards
  • report directly to the Executive Chef
